About Soroptimism



Club meetings are held at 7 pm on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at a golf club south of Bristol.   The 2nd Monday is a speaker meeting (with a meal available after 6.30 pm) and the 4th Monday is a business meeting.

We can attend meetings of any other club in any Federation as well as our own should we be away from home.

Our LOCAL programme for 2014 - 2015 includeS:


      Contract Bridge Day in aid of Penny Brohn (the year's charity)
      A visit to Highgrove Gardens

      Region Conference (South West and Channel Islands)

      Fundraising Dinner with Christine Hamilton

      A Friendship weekend

      A visit to the Houses of Parliament

      Cava and canapÚs party for our ongoing Learning in Lima project

     Francis Greenacre, Art Historian and Fine Arts Consultant

     Martin Saunders, Photographer for David Attenborough documentaries

     Graham Purches, TV Presenter



      Mock interviews at local schools

     Continuing support for a women's refuge

     Collecting for Lord Mayor's Appeal after the annual performance of
             "The Messiah"


We do not neglect the fun and friendship of Soroptimism and this is reflected in our programme and in other informal occasions as well as joining with other clubs for their events.
